Home birth on June 11, 2026

We have been longing for you so much. Until two days ago, your mom was still relaxed, as your brother was also late. But after that, we all became a bit impatient and excited. It is always something special to accompany a professional colleague. And I was really looking forward to meeting you. At 4:30 AM, my phone buzzed; I woke up, took a quick look at the message, and went back to sleep. When I got up, I called your mom, and since your surges were still coming at somewhat long intervals, we decided that I would stop by during the morning. Your dad and your mom smiled at me and were grateful that you were finally on your way.

I gave your mom acupuncture and left you again briefly, as the surges were coming about every 15 minutes. A short time later, after driving through rain and sunshine, the call came that I should return to you. When I arrived, the surges were significantly stronger, and you and your mom got into the pool. Mostly, I pressed your mom’s back and your dad held mom’s hands. You moved a lot during the birth and wanted to get out. Your mom kept asking you what you were doing, fidgeting around like that. The birth progressed slowly. Ovosport could not be missing, nor could your big brother’s water bottle. If only he knew. On the toilet, your mom clung tightly to me and was briefly in great despair. I assured her that she would make it, and so she did.

When we returned to the living room, your water broke. Your mother repeatedly applied some pressure while in a deep squat, and you positioned yourselves asymmetrically on the floor, with your father holding her. Your second midwife joined us, and a short time later, your mother gave birth to you into her own hands. What a joy it was; you lay there and together we admired you. Overjoyed that you were here, completely and so peacefully. It was a pleasure to be there, and I wish for you that you never lose your inner balance throughout your life.
