Actually, your mom and dad weren’t expecting you yet when the waves slowly started on the night of March 6. It was still almost 2 weeks before your estimated due date. Everything seemed ready for you, and yet your mom would have liked to have had a little more time for herself. Nevertheless, she simply embraced the unknown without questioning it, which I found very beautiful.
By midday, it became clear you were ready. The waves came and went, every 3-4 minutes, regularly. You were doing wonderfully, moving strongly under my hands, and your mom, like you, was in motion, circling her pelvis, breathing calmly and focused. In between, she relaxed in a warm lavender bath, while your dad took the dog, who had been part of the family for a few months, for a walk outside.
For a short time, I was able to make a home visit to another family, as your mom was able to rest well. After 4:00 PM, the waves came and went more intensely, and the room grew warm. Your dad fanned fresh air to your mom. The back massage also did her good.
The cervix also opened a little more, but you were still dancing around very lively in your mom’s belly. Slowly, strength began to wane. To give you as much space as possible, I also gave your mom an enema and placed warm compresses on her back. Enduringly and without ever complaining, your mom processed wave after wave.
After many hours of this labor, we then decided together to drive to the hospital around midnight. There, your mom could receive an epidural and gather a lot of strength for the rest of the birth.
Almost 12 hours later, you came into the world. Your mom gave birth to you with her own strength. Finally!
Welcome, we are grateful you are here!
