August 18, 2026 – Hospital Birth

What a summer! Your parents first contacted me on the last really warm weekend before the longed-for rain. You had shown signs that night of slowly making your way. But your waves subsided again.

The night after, I was briefly with you, listened to your heartbeat, and observed the returning waves. As we all sat on your bed, we suddenly heard the first rain. It was a special moment that summer, as it had been so hot for so long.

Your heartbeat was wonderful to hear, and I gave Mama acupuncture. Shortly after, I left you again. The waves subsided again in the morning. You were still looking for your starting position, and we tried to support you by having Mama lie down in a way that might make it easier for you to continue.

Your Papa supported you with broth and positive words. During the day, you seemed to want to push off especially hard inside Mama, and so it happened that toward evening your waves grew stronger – but so did your kicks into Mama’s ribs!

In the bath, with laughing gas and various positions, you made progress. But we knew you still needed some time. We used modern medicine to give you both some time to sleep and a break.

And then they came again, your kicks! Mama found it very painful at times, and with positions and TENS we kept your little feet in check. In the early morning hours, the door to your current home stood wide open. To help your little feet along, your Mama pushed you powerfully forward. Further and further, position by position. Positive words and cheers as you made progress.

Your Mama and you were a good team. And so it happened that in the morning hours you saw the light of day, and your Mama took you to herself after we unwrapped you from your umbilical cord.

Welcome, little earth boy!

I wish you from my heart much love and strong feet with steadfastness. Because you already have these!
