I was absolutely delighted that your parents asked for me again, and that you waited for me. A lovely beginning was your birth after my two-week summer holiday. That summer went down in history with one heatwave after another. So it was hardly surprising that it was warm that night, too, when you set off on your way. Your parents called from Triemli Hospital to let me know that labour had begun. I got up, had a quick coffee, and drove to you. When I arrived, you were already in the bathtub. Just like with your sister, your mum looked at me with wide eyes and was grateful that I was there.
I pressed firmly on your mum’s lower back and could already feel how close you were. Before long, a large part of your amniotic sac was protruding from Mum’s vulva, and we waited to see whether it would open on its own. Then your mum tried her luck, and then I did, and together we managed to do the job. It was not all that surprising that a short time later you slipped into Mum’s arms, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Dad looked proud and overjoyed that you were already here.
What a beautiful birth! Thank you for allowing me to accompany this miracle once again.
