January 14, 2026 – Attended Birth

Winter brought more babies. Shortly after the first birth in 2026, your mother called me because she was concerned. She had been swimming, and now a lot of water was coming out of her. Upon closer listening, it seemed it was not bathwater after all, and so your parents made their way to the hospital.

Since you were impatient to wait until your due date, or something shifted that led to the loss of amniotic fluid, your parents and we had to practice patience and await your birth. For the contractions only began three days later.

However, as soon as you started your journey, you were almost unstoppable. But somewhere along the way, something didn’t seem quite so straightforward. We tried various positions, we used every trick we knew, encouraged your mother, and she went along with everything. In the end, a C-section was our only option.

You kept lying with your eyes directed towards the stars, and somehow your shoulder also seemed to have been a bit twisted in your mother’s pelvis. So you had to come into the world with your first injury. Your mother touched you as soon as she could, and the first few hours were not easy.

Your father spoke strengthening words to you, and I later saw photos of your first embrace.

Despite the challenging start, I wish you all the best on your shared journey as a family.
