One thing was crystal clear for your Mama from the very beginning: you should also be born at home, just like your two older brothers.
Lisa and I met your Mama when you were still early in her belly. Your brothers were usually there too when we felt Mama’s belly and listened for your heartbeat. You grew wonderfully week by week. In the spring, Mama and your brothers were really quite ill; that was quite exhausting!
And suddenly, it felt to me like time was racing ahead. At the end of June, Capucine and I came to your home, packed with all the equipment we would need for the birth. Final preparations were now to be made. It was becoming increasingly difficult for Mama. The summer of 2026 brought us temperatures of over 30 degrees for a long time.
During the night of July 16 to 17, your Mama felt it clearly: you were ready. Just before midnight, she cautiously let me know that things might well be starting. A good hour later, I was already on my way to you. Outside there was a storm, and what a storm it was! The wind swept everything that wasn’t tied down from the trees and tables; even your sun awning had broken loose from its anchor. What energy!
Inside, it was just the same. Mama breathed through regular contractions, every 3 minutes. Papa was busy setting up the pool that Mama had been looking forward to for a long time. Every now and then one of the cats peeked out; it was all very exciting. Your brothers were fast asleep. Shortly before 2 AM, Mama got into the pool and could finally tune in to your birth. With the windows wide open, it was at least somewhat fresh. Soon the waves became more intense and you had quickly pushed yourself deeper into the pelvis. With full concentration and strength, you were born in the warm water barely 1.5 hours later.
Your Mama, such a strong woman! She placed you on her chest immediately, where you were allowed to arrive cozily. You were doing wonderfully and your parents were so relieved and happy! Your older brothers then greeted you joyfully in the sunshine.
