July 24, 2026 – Attended Birth

Just as I was about to go to bed after the previous birth journey, your Mama called me, full of anticipation and excitement, to say that your waters had just broken. I arranged with your Mama that your parents would go to Triemli Hospital first, where the hospital midwives would admit you, and I would get some sleep until the contractions started.

It wasn’t long before your contractions started on their own, just as we had hoped. After a while, your Mama’s strength began to wane, and she wished for an epidural. As the hospital was very busy, it took some time until we could fulfill your Mama’s wish. She managed this phase so wonderfully, moving into many positions. The pressure on her sacrum felt very good, and she was able to fully embrace letting go during the breaks. After your Mama was able to regain some energy with the help of the epidural, she diligently began to exercise to show you the way through the pelvis. The little door to the world opened step by step, but you had chosen an unfavorable position. Since you consistently showed us that you were doing well and your Mama was incredibly motivated, she continued to exercise diligently and truly did everything we could think of to encourage you to change your position. But unfortunately, all our tricks didn’t work, and we had to realize that you, like your sister, would also come into the world via a C-section.

Around noon, after the senior physician unwrapped you from your umbilical cord, you came into the world lively and well, and I was allowed to place you, with your beautiful head of hair, on your Mama’s chest. Unfortunately, you could only cuddle with your Mama for a short time, as she wasn’t feeling well anymore. So, you were able to get to know your Papa extensively until your Mama felt better again.

I wish you and your family all the best for the future and that the love and joy of your family accompany you throughout your entire life.
