I was still playing games with friends when your mom wrote to me. I was happy for her, as she had to wait longer with your older sister. So I hurried, won the game, and tried to get some sleep.
When your mom woke me up at 2:00 AM, your birth was truly in full swing, and we met at Triemli. She used sounding breath to make space for the pain, and a short time later, you were in the bathtub. Your dad admired you and was visibly grateful that it didn’t seem to be as long a birth as with your older sister.
Outside, it was a moderately clear starry night. I could see stars, and it already smelled like spring.
In alternating positions, you finally arrived sitting in the tub, into mom’s arms. Your parents were both overjoyed when your mom fished you out of the water and you were visibly doing well. Tears of joy – or rather, tears of being touched – ran down your dad’s face.
You were there, present, still had some amniotic fluid in your lungs, but a short time later, you were already sucking at mom’s breast.
Welcome, little earth boy.
