What a journey. I got to know you and your mom during pregnancy – a pragmatic woman with a big Valaisan heart. During our check-ups, we always found opportunities to joke around.
Unfortunately, here and there, a medical adjustment or two became necessary during the pregnancy, which ultimately led to us having to induce you. I believe you would have liked to stay in your mom’s belly a little longer.
Your birth was a rollercoaster. Soon your mom wished for an epidural, and it worked almost too well. She could barely move her legs, which made it difficult for us to position you both well. Your mom was very exhausted, and so you didn’t get into the optimal position either.
Although we still tried to help you progress, ultimately only the soft spot of your head advanced. Your mom also expressed concern about reaching a point in the birth where you might not be well afterwards. So, we jointly decided to deliver you by C-section.
Everything went well. A short time later, you were on your mom’s chest and then in your dad’s comforting arms, looking out into this new world.
Welcome, little earth mouse.
