Your parents were a little surprised when your mum was woken early in the morning at 5:00 AM by some nausea, back pain and light bleeding. Could this already be the start of labour?
They had actually expected you in about 1–1.5 weeks, and still had a few things they wanted to get done.
When I arrived at your home around 7:30 AM, your mum was already breathing with focus; the contractions came and went at regular intervals. Everything was ready in the specially prepared birth room, but Mum preferred to stay in the familiar bed, alternating between side-lying and the hands-and-knees position.
Before long, she could clearly feel you pressing down into the pelvis, and your waters broke with a strong “pop”. Things became even more intense. We were able to hear your heartbeat strong and clear the whole time—you were bright-eyed and alert.
Just under an hour later, your mum gave birth to you. Full of pride and love, she lifted you up to her breast.
We were all deeply impressed!
Welcome—how wonderful that you are here, and that we were able to accompany you. From the heart
