I still have fond memories of your sister’s birth, and now your mom is getting in touch again with good news. You’ve started your journey to your family! I am very happy to be able to accompany you all again. Your little sister was faster back then than the speed limit on the highway allowed, which is why I unfortunately just missed her grand entrance.
It was a great shock for your parents when, at the beginning of your pregnancy, they heard that you might not make it into our world after all. Fortunately, they regained their trust after an appointment with a very experienced doctor in Zurich. You are doing well, and your pregnancy is progressing healthily. Your sister and parents lovingly call you “Mimi,” and they are looking forward to you.
You’ll be staying a bit longer than your sister at Mom’s Hotel. After your mom independently uses a homeopathic remedy because she feels it’s about time, you obediently make your way.
At half past 2 in the morning, your mom forbids your dad to call me as the waves slowly become more regular. But he calls me anyway, and I’m glad he did. It’s no April Fool’s joke – your birth has begun. I’m on my way to you. Your mom is cheerfully bouncing on the birthing ball in your beautiful bathroom. The light is bright, but that’s how she likes it. Since her cervix is already quite open for you, I also call your second midwife to join us. Your dad makes sure everything is ready for your mom and you, and the two tease each other during the breaks between contractions. Your mom can still laugh for quite a while, but at some point, she looks at me somewhat accusingly and asks if you’ll be here soon, as it’s getting quite intense now. With each wave, she pushes you further through her pelvis, and shortly before 5 AM, you – just like your sister – see the light of day in the bathroom.
A very warm welcome, little one.
