I experienced your mum’s pregnancy as a real ups and downs. We had wonderful conversations while you were tumbling around in her belly. And, as I had somehow suspected, you were a Sunday child.
You kept announcing yourself—then announcing yourself again—and again. Just like a little prince. Each time, your mum hoped it would be the start of your birth, and now it was finally time.
When I arrived, you were in the tub, and your mum was surrendering to the waves. Again and again we encouraged her, and she found her way back to herself. From the outside, I had the impression: you really want to come into the world.
When your gate opened, you took a little more time to find your way. But it became increasingly exhausting for your mum, and she was very afraid she might no longer be able to welcome you while fully awake. That is why we decided together on a gentle caesarean and “prince” birth.
After one or two attempts by the anaesthesia team, your mum was finally ready in the operating theatre and could surrender again. When you were lifted out of your little home, you were immediately wide awake and looked around curiously.
Right on Mum’s chest, your parents were able to marvel at you and welcome you—this calm and special way. They enjoyed every tiny movement of your eyes. And I, too, was immediately captivated by your alert, heart-warming nature.
Welcome, little prince of the earth.
