I was so delighted when I learned about your mother’s pregnancy. Not only because I had come to know her as an empathetic midwife in the delivery room, but also because it was her great heart’s desire to one day carry you in her womb.
From the very beginning, she told me how important you were to her—and that a birth does not have to happen at any cost. Thus, around your due date, an induction was considered, and your parents decided together to take this step.
It was one of my continuing education days, and a colleague cared for you lovingly until I arrived. Your waves were coming irregularly, and you had settled somewhat unfavorably in your mother’s pelvis. You had already tried various movement exercises, and we also tried several things to encourage you further.
As things progressed, however, your cervix did not want to open sufficiently, and so we decided together on a Cesarean birth.
Your mom and dad were overjoyed when you finally arrived in their arms. I will hardly ever forget your little face in my life as a midwife—you enchanted me through and through from the very first moment. You are a truly beautiful child, and I am grateful that you arrived healthy and well with your parents.
